Book Review.

19th Day of Christmas.
The Eternal ones by Kristen Miller. an absolutely amazing book, again my sister, recommended me this book and I can safely say it will always hold a place in my heart, for me I love reading about reincarnation, and this book is one where you will find yourself curling up into a ball of emotion as its so sweet. This book is about two people who have lived many lives together and somehow always end up together and find their way back to one another, in some lives they remember each other in the past ones, but in some they don't remember at all, it starts with a girl called haven who keeps fainting and while she is on the ground passed out she has flashbacks of another life, she then realises that the guy in her flashbacks is real and is out there somewhere, so she set off to find him. The story goes on and you find out why they remember each other and why they must be together but being together is very dangerous, this is a combination of romance and drama and action. This is one of the best books I have read, I'm currently reading book number 2 and I hope she writes a 3rd one.

Bobbi Brown Art Sticks

             18th Day of Christmas

Ok, I found these years ago and they are the lipsticks that if I'm in a rush and I need to quickly put a lovely lipstick on then I would use these. I only have 3 and one of them my dog did chew the end of but they are still my go-to lipsticks, they are by far the easiest lipstick to put on as its pencil shape it's very easy to apply in the corners, it also lasts all day without having to put any transolton powder on or staying spray, it doesn't feel like you have any lipstick on at all and that's exactly what you need on those days when you can't be bothered with a liquid, I used these every day for school. there so matte I just love them, they are my favorite lipstick pencils, they are very big and chunky so it lasts for ages, I've had mine for 3 years and I still haven't run out, they are worth the buy by 100% everyone needs at least one of these pencils in their makeup bag as it just one of those, always go back to lipsticks.

5 Roman Makeup Facts

17th Day of Christmas.

1-

In the Roman era, they craved to have big eyes and long eyelashes, They loved eyebrows that almost met in the middle and really dark eyebrows, to get that they would put either soot, mud or sometimes animals poo and make their eyebrows go inwards.

2-

On their eyes they would put kohl, to apply it they would sharpen a bit of glass or a bit of wood also they would use an animal bone sharpened to a point, they would dip it in water then into the kohl to almost make it a watery gel.

3-

Romans loved colorful eyeshadow, they would use mineral malachite a green crystal rock, they would crush the rock till only powder was left. for blue, they would use azurite which is a blue powdery rock which was easy to crush.

4-

Like other historic eras they wanted to pale their faces, they would use white marl, white lead which was highly poisonous, and white chalk. in some writing found back then men would describe how a woman would run from rain as it would make their face run.

5-

Roman woman would also die there hair, a blonde die was made off beeches ash and goats fat, for red it was made out of plants from the henna family. for black hair, its was made out of black antimony with animal fat and leaves left to brew in vinegar then crushed with a dark ash added, then mixed all together with rose oil.

Gingerbread recipe.

16th day of Christmas.

Gingerbread is my favorite, I eat this all year round, one of the things wrong with me means I can't eat certain foods as I'm on a low histamine diet, which sadly cuts out most sweet snacks like cakes and most chocolate things. So gingerbread is perfect for me, it gives me that something sweet when you fancy it. This is the recipe my mum found and over time we have tweaked it a bit, also what we do is we tend to double the ingredients to make a bigger batch so that way we can leave half of it in the fridge so we have some made for when we run out.

ingredients

340g of flour (12oz or 1 and 1/2 cups)
115g of butter (4oz or 1/2 cups)
2 teaspoons of ground ginger.
1 beaten egg.
4 tablespoons of syrup
175g of sugar white or brown (6oz or three. 1/4 cups)

How to make.

Oven on 190C/gas mark 5
1. Put the butter, sugar, and syrup into a pan and mix together on a low heat till they have melted.
2. Place the mixture to the side, get a mixing bowl and mix together the flour and ground ginger. then add the syrup, sugar, and butter.
3. Mix everything together, then need the mixture in the bowl to make a ball, then place the ball in a plastic bag and leave in the fridge for half an hour.
4. Roll the dough out till you're happy with it, then get biscuit shape cutters and cut out the shapes or if you want, just make the dough into balls and flatten with the palm of your hand to make more of a biscuit shape.
5. place the cutout shapes of dough on a greased tray.
6. place the biscuits in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes

Spot Pen.

14th day of Christmas.
It has taken me hours to write this short post, as next to me is my phone which I went down the youtube black hole of fact videos. Anyway back to this, my sister actually lent this to me and I loved it so much that I bought myself one. It's from boots it's called tea tree witch hazel spot wand. It's my absolute 100% favorite spot cream. I'm not the best with cleaning my face every day with lots of different products so that does mean occasionally I get a break out of a few spots. Before bed, I will put a few dots of the wand on the spots and by the next day it makes the spots shrink by half and be less red and itchy. The thing I love about this is that it has a day end and a night end, the day end is clear so I normally put my nivea on then put the spot wand over my spots, let it dry then I will put my makeup on. The night end is a cream that I will put on just as I'm going to sleep so then it won't come off. It's so good, I don't use it every day but when I get a spot I will alway use this, a few days ago I got a spot on my forehead and I couldn't find this, I'm not even joking I tore my room apart trying to find this, it literally is the only spot wand I've ever used where it actually gets rid of the spots. it also smells so good my favorite scent of the scented skin care is tea tree. it doses sting when you put it on but for me, I look at it as its working.

Purple Look

13th day of Christmas.

Purple has always been my favorite color. I love wearing dark purple lipsticks and I actually do have purple mirrored sunglasses. purple it's such a calming color, my sister was always the pink one I was always the purple one. So I put together a few things

1- phone case
It's just a bunch of hocus-pocus phone case, firstly I love the saying, just sort of saying its all a bunch of rubbish and secondly I do love the film as well.

2-nyx liquid
NYX liquid suede liquid matte lipstick, I have written about this a few times, and it's still my favorite lipstick ever, it lasts for so long the color looks absolutely amazing and it doesn't go all crumbly like some others do.

3-mirrod sunglasses
Those cat sunglasses I saw them when I was in America and to this day I still regret not buying them as I already had a pair of purple sunglasses, I love the black frames I think the purple goes really well with them.

4- love spell
Victoria secrets love spell. I love this body mist I have had two of these I love them, I used to take it to school with me for after p.e. its so nice is one of my favorite as it one of the stronger perfumes and not so fruity like the others.

Book review

12th day of Christmas.
Dream A Little Dream by Giovanna Fletcher is one of my favorite books, I have all her books, my first book I bought of hers was when I was 13 called you're the one that I want, I loved it so much I brought the rest of her collection, you're the one that I want, made me cry so many times and feel so heartbroken yet it made me smile. Then I read Dream a Little Dream and it's my favorite of all her books, it's my go to book, whenever I want a happy and funny book to read. It's that book that you bring with you on planes, holidays, jorneys. it makes you feel so much emotion. you will cry. smile. be shocked and laugh and when you close the book, you will be filled with happyniess. when I finished it I just sat there for a bit thinking that was so good and worth the read, some books I have read I finish it and thought that wasn't worth my time, dream a little dream was the first book I read with a really British funny sense of humor, with jokes that actually make you laugh out loud in public, which is so embarrassing as everyone just looks at you like you're a right old idiot. anyway back to the book, it's about a woman who works as an assistant for a production company in london, and for a while now she has been dreaming of a guy, a guy she met a very long time ago. little does she know that he is about to join the production company she works for to help on a project and she has to come face to face with the guy in her dreams that has no idea who she is but she, on the other hand, has imagined a lot. alot. about him. It was so good not even joking there are bits where you have to stop reading and hold the book to your chest and fangirl for a second and then continue reading. I honstely really enjoyed this book, its one of those you have to read to understand just how good it is.

Victorian fashion.

11th day go Christmas.

Not going to lie but for the past few months I've been obsessed with victorian times, ever since I watch the period drama victoria and an amazing tv series call the victorian slums which showed the life off east end woman, children and men ln the slums. well since then I have read and watched so much about the era I thought I would impart the wisdom I have found to you about the fashion.

1

Victorian fashion was very different if you lived in a higher or lower class. Children's fashion I found the most interesting, a little girls clothes would grow with her, for us in 2016 when we are children we wear skirt, jean,t-shirt and as adult we still wear the same just maybe a different colour, well a little girls fashion back then would evolve as her age went on, at the age of being able to walk she would wear a corset, the corset, unlike the women, wouldn't be as tight and not done up at the back it would be buttoned or laced up at the front not so tight that they wouldn't be able to breathe but enough to start shaping them, their skirts would be just above their knee. by ten they would be wearing a bit more of a grown up corset to build a figure and their skirts would now be half way down there leg, buy 16 they would be wearing an adult corset and their skirts would be touching the floor with the same fashion style as the mothers.

Victorians had a thing for a small waist, they thought that the age you are is how big your waist should be so if you were 16 you would be expected to have a 16inch waistline, the older you got the less strict that rule was, their love of a certain shape meant that they didn't care how uncomfortable their dresses where, for about 2 decade in the 1800 richer woman would wear a dress that the neckline was so far down it just came above their boobs and it was so tight as it was around a lower bit of your body that it actually pinned their arm to their body as the sleeves started so low, that's why in some pictures you don't see their arms up only bent at the elbow. a working woman would not wear anything like that they would wear a more comfortable corset, layers which would cover their shoulders and arm as they were outside all day.

3
At the beginning of 1800 woman used to wear hoops under their dresses to make them stick out and look massive by the middle of the 1800s instead of wearing hoopes they wore layers underneath there dress to make them less big and more narrow, the richer tended to wear more layers and more extravagant clothes then the poor. That's why in films or tv show or book set in that time you see a maid helping them get dressed as there were so many things to put on and to put on right.

Favourite Christmas decoration

10th day of Christmas
We decorated our house last week and I had completely forgotten that last year I had brought the coolest decorations ever. Something you should know about me is I love ducks they are my favorite animal ever, I actually had 9 pet ducks, and no I did not eat them I would never ever eat duck. anyway back to my favorite Christmas decoration, I couldn't find a picture that's not copyrighted but I did put the link in the name. so my favorite decoration this year and last year and probably next year is dcuk Christmas tree decorations. dcuk (no I haven't spelt duck wrong that's the name of the brand) is an online shop that sells ducks, penguins, and owl statues but they do this really cool thing like ducks with chef hats on or ducks with skies on. When I found this website I literally was so excited I ran downstairs and showed my mum and sister whilst jumping up and down. I bought two boxes of these and they are hanging on my Christmas tree as I type this they are so pretty and just so cute.

Movie Review.

8th day of Christmas.
Me and my sister went to go and see the fantastic beast. And we loved it, we went to a cinema that seemed to be full of kids so when the titles came on the screen the exact same ones they have used in all of the harry potter films, we were like fangirling and a few kids looked at use but we didn't care cause they were like 5 when the movies came out. Throughout the whole movie, they were making Hogwarts references, we were just in heaven. I mean it's not Harry potter but we were just so happy to see the wizarding world on the screen again, I'm defiantly buying it on DVD, I know its just a movie but for me I found it really interesting to see what J.K Rowling made the American wizards like and all the spells they use, I'm so happy there making 5 films as it was just so good. You come out of the cinema just in shock. It's really interesting to see some characters that are related to ones we know in harry potter and their history. You saw a lot more magic than you do in some off harry potter, I think what else made it better was the fact it was based in the swinging 20s, I'm not even joking it was the best film of the year. whenever they said something about Hogwarts or ministry of magic actually anything to do with harry potter me and my sister were just looking at each other trying to hold back to fangirling as we were in public, from the moment it started to the moment it ended we didn't move or even eat are popcorn. Since Harry potter finished the CGI has got so much better, so the spells are incredible and so breath takenley real that you just sit there and think I wish I could do that, the CGI is way better then harry potter by far. It was defiantly the best way to spend the afternoon.

Winter coats must haves.

7th day of Christmas.
Winter is my favorite season, I love everything about the cold, whenever we go on holiday to hot places I miss cold weather the most, so for me shopping for winter is my absolute favourite thing, as in summer you are too hot to care so you just throw on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt or a dress, summer I find I'm never comfortable in my clothes, but winter you can buy jeans, top, jackets, coat, socks, boot and ankle boots the list goes on. So I have put together a few of my favorite coats this year. I couldn't find any pictures of any of them that I properly won't get find for or something, stupid copyright, but I have put the links if you just click on the name of the coats.

1
My absolute favourite coat this year and it will properly be for a few years is from Next, the single-breasted coat, I bought the navy one but it also comes in gray, it's so warm and comfy, it's one of those jackets that you could be wearing slobbering at home clothes and just put this jacket on and it will make your outfit look like you have been out for an import business meeting or something, is just so good to throw on over warm clothes

My second favorite jacket is again from Next the herringbone overcoat. This one I'm not even joking it makes me feel like one of those people you see in the magazines, I'm really short so for me it goes down to my ankles but it's oversized and long and most imported it's warm, I feel so fashionable whenever I wear this. I don't have many things that are really on trend but this coat just is so gorgeous I love it, this year I'm really into the oversize blazer jackets I just think its stylish yet warm.

3
My third favorite jacket is from Top shop but I bought it 4 years ago so they don't actually sell it anymore but they have brought out number 2 of that jacket which is called petite quilted faux leather biker jacket. The leather jacket is so comfy and warm I wear this all the time its always on the back of my chair, I got this 4 years ago and it still looks new well sep from the chew makes in it from when my dog was a puppy, but other than that it still looks brand new, for me this is an all year rounder jacket u can wear it with jeans and scarf or whens its a bit hotter shorts and  a t-shirt, I love biker jacket and biker boots, thats very much my style this is a really nice jacket and it will last you.

Night routine

6th day of Christmas
Ok, so I'm not the best at doing the whole six different product on my face every morning and every night, I do cleanse and moisturise my face, but some nights I can't be bothered, those nights that you come in late or you really can't be asked then I just do a small routine after I take my makeup off.

1
The first thing I use straight after I have taken my makeup off is Nivea, I haven't know about Nivea for a long time but I use this so much I feel like the dad from my big fat greek wedding when he puts Windex on everything, I'm like that but with Nivea. I don't buy the small tubes I buy the BIG tubes. I love this as it makes my skin not dry and I also use this as a primer, as most makeup primers don't agree with me I would just put a bit of Nivea on, I think this is so healthy for your skin it gives you all the stuff your skin needs.

2
The second product is Honey bee intense hand repair, I'm loving this at the moment. Normally I don't tend to use scented hand creams, but I found this one, as it's not perfumed scented because it's all organic, it's only scented because of the ingredients, it doesn't make my hands itch or my eyes water which is really good. It's the best thing to use especially this time of year, it's literally just what you need, I love the cold but my hands don't and they go all dry, so I normally put this on at night. It makes my hands so soft, I love it and it smells AMAZING.

3
My third and last product is Blistex daily lip conditioner, best lip care thing I have ever brought, I got this last year when my lips were so dry they were bleeding and within 4 days it had completely mended them, so since then I have been using this every day, it comes in the smallest pot ever and honestly you will think 'how will that last me' but it does trust me, my favorite thing about this is when you put it on it goes all tingly. I just love it.

Pendulum Reading

5th day of Christmas
Pendulum reading for me are one of my favorites, I have an obsession with past lives and the stories of people that remember their past lives, that are able to tell things that no one could possibly know in less you were there, some may think when people talk about past life there just making it up as its a well know period of time, but why would someone make up their murder or a house that's nearly falling to the ground. So when I told my sister that I wanted to know more about past lives, Georgi, as she works at psychic sisters, she brought me a pendulum and a book about past lives. With pendulums there are lots of different ways to use them so I will tell you the most common, first thing you have to do is place it in your hand and close your eyes, so your energy gets into it, then hold it from the top above a bit of paper and make it starting swinging in a circle without moving your hand, first make it go clockwise then try and make it circle the other way, the last thing to make sure its the one for you is to try and make it stop. Once you have made it stop close your eyes and focus on it moving. once you have your pendant moving, only you can figure out which way yes and no are, think or even say the word out loud and let the pendant move and show you yes and no. almost there, so you can start asking real questions but first, you are going to want to ask a few questions you know the answer to just to make sure its ok. once you've done that you can start asking any questions you want or asking it for guidance in a situation, but remember it can only give you yes and no answers. I find that this is a quicker way then tarot reading when you need a little guidance, asking about past lives with this is defiantly the best thing. through that, you can figure out about your past. and about your future.

How to use a beauty blender

4th day of Christmas.
Ok so I found out a few weeks ago that I've been using my beauty blender wrong, how I don't know, as every youtube video, all my friends use beauty blenders that way. But low and behold it was not the way they are to be used. if you're like me and you put your foundation on the back of your hand and then use the beauty blender like a brush. well, that's the worst thing you can do if you want a real, amazing coverage of your foundation, before I tell you as you will probably make fun of me, because I've been using it wrong, but what I never realised that it's actually in the name, beauty BLENDER. what you are supposed to do is put on your foundation with a proper foundation brush. it doesn't have to be perfect as long as it covers your face, you don't need to blend it in, you can leave all the strokes and lines and everything it doesn't matter. Then what you are going to want to do is go over with your beauty blender but do not rub it, dap it over and over until you have done your entire face. you will be shocked at how it looks. when I did it I honest sat there and thought, is this the same foundation. it goes so hd and how it is in all the Instagram videos. also, it cuts the time of how long it takes to do your makeup in half, how, I don't understand as you do more steps than just putting it on with the blender. But somehow it does and it looks a million times better.

8 Facts about make up

   3rd day of Christmas

Romans followed the Egyptians for their love to wear makeup. In fact, there has been Roman writing found that reads 'A woman without paint is like food without salt'. What they used was mostly kohl to darken their eyelids which would also be rubbed on their eyelashes, chalk would be rubbed on their faces, to make them look paler and they would put Rouge on their cheeks.

The need for paler skin actually continued for a few centuries. In the Italian Renaissance, they actually used to do something called lead pain, lead pain was crushed powder to make the skin look paler, the main ingredient was arsenic. which if you didn't know is a lethal poison. The maker was soon executed as the makeup caused hundreds of deaths.
